Tony Rowell's astro time-lapse videos have been featured on the National Geographic Channel, CBS News' Epic Skies: time-lapse of the American southwest, PBS' SkyWeek and Discover magazine's websites. Rowell's timelapse footage was featured in the movie TimeScapes and his short astronomy documentary film Sierra Starlight was shown at the Lone Pine Short Film Festival on April 26, 2012.

Rowell's award-winning photos have been published in books, calendars, and in Astronomy, Backpacker, Mountain Bike Action, Nature's Best and Outdoor Photographer magazines. Over the years his astrophotography has been chosen as the Astronomy Picture of the Day on and on NASA's APOD website. Rowell's photography expeditions  have taken him from the Arctic Circle to the mountains of Tibet.

Tony Rowell is the son of renowned photographer and mountaineer Galen Rowell, and has had his work exhibited at the Yosemite Museum Gallery in Yosemite National Park, the Marin Headlands Visitors Center, and Mountain Light Gallery near his home in California's beautiful Eastern Sierra.
